Superpipe

Superpipe — Five-Layer Composite Pipes from Iran

Founded in 1997 in Iran’s Qeshm Free Zone, Superpipe launched five-layer pipe and fittings production with German machinery and multilayer extrusion lines. Today, the brand ranks among Iran’s leading composite pipe manufacturers, supplying landmark domestic projects and exporting across the Gulf region. Superpipe operates under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and holds DVGW certification.

Production Technology & Five-Layer Structure

Superpipe is available in PEX-AL-PEX, PE-AL-PE, and PE-RT-AL-PE-RT. A central aluminum layer blocks oxygen diffusion and controls linear expansion. Two specialty adhesive layers ensure durable metal-polymer bonding, while inner and outer polyethylene (or enhanced PE-RT) layers provide chemical resistance and flexibility. The result combines the strength and pressure tolerance of metal with the corrosion resistance and low weight of plastics.

Product Range (Five-Layer)

  • PEX-AL-PEX: For hot-water systems up to 95 °C; hand bending radius 5D.
  • PE-RT-AL-PE-RT (Type I): Ethylene-octene copolymer for higher fatigue strength under repeated bending.
  • PE-AL-PE: For pressurized potable-water networks up to 20 bar; thicker aluminum core for added dimensional stability.
  • PE-RT-AL-PE-RT (Type II) — “Superpipe +2”: New generation with PE-RT Type II, increased flexibility, beige color, and an estimated service life beyond 100 years.

Technical Dimensions — Popular Sizes

Nominal size OD (mm) ID (mm) Wall (mm) Min. hand bend radius (mm) Weight (g/m)
16×2 16 12 2.0 70 91
20×2 20 15.5 2.0 80 105
25×2.25 25 20 2.25 100 148
32×2.5 32 26 2.5 125 240

All sizes are rated for 10 bar long-term pressure and 95 °C continuous operating temperature.

Superpipe Classic vs. Superpipe +2

Feature Superpipe Classic (PEX-AL-PEX) Superpipe +2 (PE-RT Type II)
Polymer layer PEX-b (cross-linked PE) PE-RT II (heat-resistant PE)
Color White Beige
Hand bend radius 5 × D 4 × D (more flexible)
Estimated service life > 50 years > 100 years
Long-term pressure 10 bar 10 bar
Long-term temperature 95 °C 95 °C

With its updated formulation and lighter aluminum rings, Superpipe +2 speeds up pressing/installation and reduces handling weight.

Key Advantages

  • Minimal scaling: Internal roughness μ = 0.0004 helps keep pressure loss low over time.
  • Natural acoustic damping: Multilayer structure cuts water-flow noise by up to 10 dB.
  • Chemical & corrosion resistance: Non-reactive with concrete and mortar; ideal for concealed runs and underfloor heating.
  • Fast, leak-tight installation: Press fittings with aluminum sleeves, zero-leak performance—no threading or solvent required.
  • Recyclable: PE, aluminum, and adhesive layers are separable and recyclable.

Applications

Cold and hot domestic water, risers, fan-coil loops, radiant heating/cooling, food industry lines, low-pressure pneumatics, and healthcare piping thanks to high hygienic standards.

Installation Notes for Contractors

  • Perform hydrostatic testing at 1.5× working pressure with at least 60 minutes monitoring.
  • For straight runs over 50 m, include expansion loops or U-frames.
  • Do not exceed the minimum bend radius; below 0 °C, pre-heat with a heat gun.
  • Use approved Superpipe press tools; the correct press indicator must show a full 360°.

Distribution Note

Tamambaha is one of the brand’s distributors and supplies the complete five-layer range—including Superpipe +2, RTS press fittings, and installation tools—with product authenticity and pre-sales support. The brand is also available through other authorized channels, depending on project needs.
